The old Station Houten moves today !

 
Vrijdag 24 augustus. Het spectaculaire transport, waarbij het voormalige station van Houten (anno 1868) in zijn geheel 150 meter zuidwaarts wordt verplaatst, heeft plaats gevonden. Dit vanwege de spoorverdubbeling Utrecht – Den Bosch.

Freyssinet is aannemer van dit zeer bijzondere project.

The Kanne suspended bridge ( Belgium ): the last Freyssinet innovation
The Kanne bridge crosses the Albert Canal near Kanne. To enable the widening of the canal, the old arch bridge was to be replaced by a longer bridge. Being the first suspension bridge built in Belgium since 1960’s, the owner paid a lot of attention to durability.

Freyssinet has proposed to use the Cohestrand system for the main cables. These 75 strands cables are the first industrial scale application of the Cohestrand on a suspension bridge.

The HSL between Liège (Belgium) and Germany

 
Construction of 4 viaducts

The longest of the four viaduct for the high speed line will have 1.300 meter length ; the three others (José, Herve and Ruyff) are between 250 and 470 meter long. They will cross valleys with heights varying from 8 to 30 meter.

The Brussels-North wastewater treatment plant
The wastewater from the North and Woluwe basins will be treated by the Brussels-North plant, which will have the larger capacity of 1.100.000 inhabitant-equivalents.

At the end of a tender process, the contract that included both designing and building the Brussels-North plant, and operating it for 20 years, was awarded to AQUIRIS, a group of companies lead by world leader in water services and treatment systems Veolia Water. This plant will be operational in summer 2006.

Freyssinet Belgium has proposed a solution for the three slabs of the main building, using posttensionnig. Freyssinet does the design and the installation of the cables.

The Utrechtboog railwayviaduct near Duivendrecht (NL)

 
The 'Utrechtboog' project is part of a development plan of the railway line between Amsterdam and Utrecht.

In this project several construction methods are applied. The major part, two cast in situ bridges with a U-form section are post-tensioned by using theFreyssinet C-system. In these two viaducts approximatively 1,900 tons of prestressing steel is used.

Building of the arch bridge in Wolin has just finished.
The bridge in Wolin is the biggest arch bridge in Poland and therefore one of the most prestigious. The bridge is the part of a ring road of Wolin, in the north-west of Poland, near the border with Germany. It crosses the Strait of Dziwna River.

The cable-stayed bridge on the Vistula river in Plock (Poland) is completed

 
The structure will be 1,200 m long including a 375 m central span. The main span is the longest ever built in the country and the access spans, composed of metal, required the largest lifting operations ever performed.

Freyssinet Polska provides heavy lifting of spans and segments, spherical bearings of strength 110 MN and 56 stay cables representing 500 t of steel.

Two bridges in construction in Denmark and Norway
The bridge over Silkeborgvej at Århus and the Sundøy bridge in Northern part of Norway are in construction with Freyssinet tendons.
